Tom Naylor

Tom leads the Australian legal function at Private Energy Partners, across the full lifecycle of renewable energy and storage investments, including development, approvals, land access, financing, construction, and operations.

• Tom provides strategic legal advice across the full investment and project lifecycle, including planning, environment, land tenure, Native Title, FIRB, transaction structuring, fund and corporate governance, and regulatory risk, enabling efficient project delivery and disciplined capital deployment.
• Prior to Private Energy Partners, Tom was a Senior Associate at Mallesons and held senior legal roles at Alinta Energy and AGL, advising on major real estate, infrastructure, and energy projects across Australia, with a focus on planning, environment, land access, regulatory approvals, and complex development disputes, as well as broader commercial and governance matters.
• Tom holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney, in addition to a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science. He is admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia and holds a current practising certificate in Queensland.
